Rapunzel's paintbrush is an object in Barbie as Rapunzel. It was originally a hairbrush, discovered by Rapunzel in a secret room in Gothel's manor. It transformed into a silver paintbrush. Rapunzel's paintbrush was a powerful tool, capable of painting anything Rapunzel wished and she only had to think about what she wanted to paint. She can also paint even without ink. The paintbrush has the ability to create portals to every place Rapunzel wanted to go, and she could paint any dress she wants even in mid-air with it.

Story[]

King Wilhelm and his wife had a daughter named Rapunzel who was kidnapped by a witch named Gothel sometime after her first birthday. Gothel kept Rapunzel in her manor and had lied to her by claiming that she had found Rapunzel in the woods, abandoned at just a few days old. As a teenager, Rapunzel finds the hairbrush in a secret basement in Gothel's manor. Rapunzel noticed an engraving on the back that said, "As constant as the stars above, always know that you are loved. To our daughter, Rapunzel, on her first birthday. With love forever, mother and father." Rapunzel was confused about why Gothel lied to her.

Rapunzel was passionate about painting, but one day Gothel destroyed all of her paintbrushes and painting equipment. While Rapunzel was sleeping, the hairbrush transformed into a paintbrush. Rapunzel used it to paint Prince Stefan's kingdom on a wall, and she was able to use the painting as a portal to the real kingdom. Rapunzel met Stefan and asked him if he knew who made her paintbrush. They visit the silversmith, who told Rapunzel it was made by his brother who lived in Wilhelm's kingdom.

Stefan asked Rapunzel to go to a ball with him, and she agreed. She used the paintbrush to make herself a ballgown. Gothel found out about it and punished Rapunzel by breaking the paintbrush. Gothel had enchanted the tower with a spell to never release a prisoner with a lying heart, but because Rapunzel was honest, she was able to leave. Gothel became trapped in her own tower.
